Galaxy S23 Ultra battery life is so amazing, I’m still coming to terms with it

While Samsung introduced many new features and improvements with the Galaxy S23 series, the consistent performance and battery life of the new phones are what surprised us the most. In our Galaxy S23 Ultra review, we mentioned that it is a proper two-day phone capable of offering 6-8 hours of screen-on time. The battery life is so good; we're still coming to terms with it.

The combination of a 5,000mAh battery and the extremely power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chipset is doing wonders for the Galaxy S23 Ultra's battery life. I've used my Galaxy S23 Ultra for over two weeks now, and I've been nothing but amazed by its battery life. The phone is consistently lasting close to two days on a single charge, and I am not a light user at all.

Galaxy S23 Ultra consistently lasts two days on a single charge

I frequently keep checking RSS feeds for news and other stories, have two email accounts synced, and have online banking and shopping apps. I also have all the popular social media and messaging apps, and I mostly use Instagram, Slack, Twitter, and WhatsApp. I also stream music on Apple Music and Spotify for at least two hours every day and stream videos on Disney+ and YouTube. And that is mixed with a few calls, GPS navigation, and some gaming.

Despite my mid to heavy usage, the Galaxy S23 Ultra lasts at least close to two days, with the screen-on time reaching 7-8 hours. On days when I use the phone quite heavily, the phone lasts a day and a half, with screen-on time crossing the 10-hour mark. The battery life on this phone has been so good that out of habit, I am reaching for the charging cable every morning only to realize that the phone still has 40-50% charge left.

Over the past couple of weeks, I had to charge the phone only 6 or 7 times. In a way, this amazing battery life also worries me. Now that we are growing accustomed to this amazing battery life, what if Samsung disappoints us next year with the Galaxy S24 series? Well, until then, I will keep loving the Galaxy S23 Ultra and its amazingly smooth performance and ultra-long battery life.
