Recently, WhatsApp was spotted testing multiple features, including the ability to mute spam calls from unknown numbers and self-destructing groups. Now the Meta-owned platform feature set is expanding its feature set and released a new set of Unicode 15.0 emoji to beta testers. The new Unicode 15.0 emoji was spotted on WhatsApp beta v2.23.5.13 for Android.

The feature was first spotted back in December 2022, and now it has finally started rolling out for the WhatsApp beta v2.23.5.13 for beta testers. According to WABetaInfo, the visibility may differ from person to person, and for some users, the new Unicode 15.0 emoji is visible with WhatsApp beta v2.23.5.12.

The new emojis may not be visible to all WhatsApp beta users right away

The Unicode 15.0 emoji was released in September 2022  and is now available to WhatsApp beta testers. This will allow the messaging users to use 21 emojis in Unicode 15.0 directly within WhatsApp. They now do not need to rely on alternate keyboards to achieve the same goal. Although the new Unicode 15.0 emoji are available in WhatsApp beta, their arrival on the stable channel shouldn't be far away.

The gap between apps and OSs to adopt certain features is different because they are updated at different times. Some apps, including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp, design their own Unicode-compliant emoji to make sure users use them regardless of the emojis arriving with software updates. But there is also a chance that a new emoji may be visible on one device but may not be visible on another using the same app.

Some of the 21 new Unicode 15.0 emojis that are now available with WhatsApp beta are gray heart, blue heart, pink heart, rightwards and leftwards pushing hands, jellyfish, ginger, shaking face, khanda, wireless, and more. For a complete list of emojis in Unicode 15.0, you can visit here.

WhatsApp will finally let you select HD as default image resolution

WhatsApp compresses all the images and videos unless you share them as documents.
