Almost everything in 2024 somehow has an AI connection, whether you like it or not. If you think there is an AI overload, prepare to get some more of it, as WhatsApp is about to get more AI features soon.
WhatsApp is developing a new AI-powered feature that lets you reimagine yourself in various themes or in different setups and backgrounds. WABetaInfo has found that the latest beta version (2.24.14.7) of WhatsApp for Android has a new feature called ‘Imagine Yourself As Anything.’
It lets you create an AI-generated image of yourself. For example, you can reimagine yourself as an astronaut or have a backdrop of the Eiffel Tower without actually visiting that location.
It is powered by Meta AI, and you can simply open up a chat thread with Meta AI in WhatsApp and start typing with the prompt starting “Imagine me…” in it. For example, you can type “Imagine me as an Astronaut.” You may be able to save those images as your profile picture or use them as stickers when conversing with your family members, friends, or anyone else.
Meta AI recently started to roll out to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger users in India and the US. It has already been available in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Most people in those locations should now see a shortcut to Meta AI in those apps on the top right corner of the screen.
The story continues after the video…
It is unclear when this feature will roll out to users on WhatsApp. Since Meta AI is limited to just a few countries right now, we expect that the image creation feature won’t be released anytime soon.
