Yesterday, Samsung made the September 2023 security patch available for the international variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Now, the company has started rolling out the latest security update to the carrier-unlocked variants of the two devices in the US, which carry model numbers SM-F711U1 and SM-F721U1, respectively.

Factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Flip 4 get September 2023 security update in the US

The firmware version of the latest software update for the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 is F711U1UES5GWH7, and that for the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 4 is F721U1UES3DWH7. Remember, these updates are available for the US models of the phones. The new update brings the September 2023 security patch, which fixes 62 security issues. At the moment, the software update is rolling out to devices on all the network carriers in the country, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Cricket, Comcast, DISH, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 user in the US, your phone should automatically notify you about the update. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings » Software updates and tapping Download and install. If you haven’t received the update even after checking for it manually, you can download the firmware from our database and install it manually using the Odin tool.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 with Android 12 (One UI 4.0) and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with Android 13 (One UI 5.0). The company promised to offer four new versions of the OS to these devices. That means the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are eligible for the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update. The company might release the stable One UI 6.0 update to these phones before the end of this year.
