The new software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is available for factory-unlocked models in the US. It comes with firmware version N98xU1UES6HXA1 and has a relatively small download size. The update is available on almost all carrier networks. It brings the February 2024 security patch that aims to fix 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. The update doesn't bring any new features or performance enhancements.
If you have a factory-unlocked model of the Galaxy Note 20 series phone in the US, you can now check for the update on your device by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually if you have a computer running the Windows OS and have the Odin tool installed. You should also back up your important data and be well-versed in the manual firmware flashing process.
The Galaxy Note 20 series is Samsung's last Galaxy Note series smartphone. It was launched in late 2020 with Android 10 onboard. It received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. It isn't eligible to get the Android 14 update, which is a bit sad. Samsung should have offered Android 14 as the last update to the Galaxy Note 20.
