Samsung is continuing the rollout of the February 2024 security update to its smartphones. The update has already been released to several high-end smartphones from the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series. Now, Samsung has started rolling out the update to the last phones in the popular Galaxy Note lineup: Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are now available in the US for carrier-locked models. The update comes bearing firmware version N98xUSQS6HXA1 and is now available on Sprint and T-Mobile networks in the country. Since this is just a security update, it has a relatively smaller download size. It includes the February 2024 security patch that fixes around 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous versions of the software. The update doesn't bring any performance improvement or new features.

If you have a Galaxy Note 20 series phone, which is a carrier-locked model, you can now check for the new update on your device. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool installed. You also need to be well-versed with the manual firmware flashing process and have your data backed up at a secure location.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series in the second half of 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The phones didn't get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. If you want to upgrade from your Galaxy Note 20, have a look at the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and you can find its review in our video below.
