The global gaming monitor market was reportedly worth $9.8 billion in 2023. It's expected to almost double over the next decade, hitting $18.4 billion by 2033. Samsung and LG are two of the dominant players in the market with others like ASUS and Dell vying for position as well.
Gaming monitors are typically more expensive than regular monitors, often twice as much, which provides manufacturers with a higher margin and thus more profits. So it's understandable why companies like Samsung are laser-focused on leading this market.
Samsung's OLED gaming monitors, the Odyssey OLED G6 and G8, have been on the market for a few months now and sold an impressive 20,000 units within the first month alone. That meant it sold one OLED gaming monitor every two minutes. Samsung is currently estimated to account for 20.6% of the total global gaming monitor market.
The rise in popularity of esports is contributing to the considerable demand for gaming monitors. In addition to catering to this demand through innovative products, Samsung has also been making its presence felt in the esports area through partnerships and alliances, placing itself in a strong position to fully capitalize on all opportunities that this industry has to offer.
