Samsung launched its first OLED gaming monitor early last year, and its sales are growing globally. The company has announced that the sales of its newest and most affordable OLED gaming monitors—the Odyssey G6 and G8—have surpassed 20,000 units within a month of their launch.

Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 sales cross 20,000 units in a month

Last month, Samsung launched the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD) and the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) in Europe, North America, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. Since then, one OLED monitor has sold every two minutes, and the total sales have exceeded the 20,000 mark within one month.

These are Samsung's first OLED monitors to feature an advanced pixel burn-in protection feature called ‘Samsung OLED Safeguard+.' They also feature OLED Glare Free, a technology that uses a panel on the screen that reduces reflections caused by light sources in the room. Watch those monitors in action in our hands-on video below.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27-inch QHD monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate. The Odyssey OLED G8 is a 32-inch 4K monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and has the NQ8 AI 3rd generation processor. Both monitors feature a 16:9 aspect ratio, a standard brightness of 250 nits, a 0.03ms response time, FreeSync Premium Pro, RGB lighting, and a height-adjustable stand with pivot, swivel, and tilt adjustments. They also feature several input and output ports.

The Odyssey OLED G8 runs Tizen, which allows you to use all the popular audio and video streaming apps. It also features AirPlay 2, Bixby, Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung Health, and SmartThings.

Jeong Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business Division, said, “Technological exploration and innovation to provide the best gaming environment to gamers has led to the popularity of the Odyssey OLED series. As the global No. 1 in the OLED monitor market, we are leading the market with constant technological innovation.
