Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for one of its latest flagship rugged tablets, the Galaxy Tab Active 5. It improves the device’s security by offering the July 2026 security patch, which addresses 57 security issues present in the previous firmware.
Samsung seems to be rolling it out first in its home country, South Korea. The update carries firmware version X306NKOSCDZG1 (via Mohammed Khatri). The brand should release it in other regions over the next few days. You can check for its availability manually by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab Active 5 with One UI 6 (Android 14). It is an Enterprise Edition model, and the brand has promised to offer such devices with eight major OS upgrades, the highest among all the company’s smartphones and tablets.
So far, the tech giant has offered it two major upgrades, and the device is currently running on One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2). It means that the tablet is eligible to get Samsung’s new Android skin, One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17.
