Samsung is the leader of the small-sized OLED panel market, but it had refrained from making large-sized OLED panels for devices like laptops and TVs until 2019. The company has now announced that it will expand the laptop OLED panel lineup and offer superior image quality.

The company published a new video on YouTube, teasing the most important qualities of its OLED screens for laptops. Samsung Display claims that its new screens offer cinematic and ultrapure color, and all the other advantages of OLED screens such as deep blacks (0.0005 nits), high contrast ratio (1,000,000:1), and excellent visibility under direct sunlight.

The company's OLED screens for laptops also offer 120% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and 85% HDR coverage. The company is promising to offer excellent bright highlights and details in dark scenes. Samsung is expected to offer more details about its OLED screens for laptops in its The First Look event tomorrow. The company is aiming to expand the laptop OLED lineup in the mass market category.

Samsung has already unveiled its 2021 laptop lineup, but not of those products use OLED screens. However, the company could launch more laptops later in the year with OLED screens. In 2020, Samsung Display had supplied OLED screens to ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Razer. Now, the company says that it will launch a 15.6-inch Full HD OLED panel.
