Samsung Display starts making OLED panels for Apple iPad Pro (2025)

Apple's first iPad Pro lineup with OLED panels was launched last year. And the company is now ready to launch its next-generation iPad Pro models with faster performance. For those tablets, Samsung Display has already started making OLED panels.

iPad Pro (2025) uses OLED panels from LG and Samsung

According to a report from ZDNet Korea (via Digitimes), Apple has chosen LG Display and Samsung Display for the supply of OLED panels for the iPad Pro (2025) that will launch in October this year. Mass production of those OLED panels has already begun.

Apple has reportedly made changes to the contracts compared to last year to improve its supply chain diversification. For the iPad Pro (2024) lineup, Samsung Display made OLED panels for the 11-inch model, while LG Display was tasked with the production of OLED panels for the 13-inch model. This year, both LG and Samsung will reportedly make OLED panels for 11-inch and 13-inch models.

Besides an OLED panel, the upcoming iPad Pro models are said to feature the M5 chip for faster performance and higher efficiency. They could also have an Apple logo on the back to match the landscape orientation rather than the current portrait orientation. This is likely to match iPadOS 26 and its many macOS-like features, which could force people to use the iPad in the landscape orientation most of the time.

Reports suggest that Apple is planning to use OLED panels for the iPad Mini that will be launched in 2026 and the iPad Air in 2027. So, chances are that Samsung Display will get more revenue from Apple in the coming years.
