Samsung’s latest Galaxy S23 Ultra offer could be the best one yet

Samsung announced a new offer for the Galaxy S23 Ultra in Malaysia. It's pretty bonkers and might never be matched by another. It's a trade-in deal, but it's unlike other trade-in offers we usually see from Samsung.

Galaxy S23 Ultra buyers in Malaysia can now trade an older phone upon purchasing the 2023 Ultra variant and get a second Galaxy S23 (base model) for free!

The offer is available for a few older devices, including Galaxy S and Note flagship, and even a handful of iPhones, old and new.

Who needs just one Samsung flagship when they can get two?

Depending on the traded smartphone model, Galaxy S23 Ultra buyers may or may not have to pay a small top-up fee to get the complementary Galaxy S23. But regardless, it's all worth it.

Here are the models included in this trade-in offer and the required top-up fee for each:

  • Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max (RM 0 top-up fee)
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max (RM 199 / $45 top-up fee)
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max (RM 399 / $90 top-up fee)
  • Galaxy Note 10+, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max (RM 699 / $158 top-up fee)

This incredible offer is valid until April 30, 2023, or while stocks last. To get the free Galaxy S23, customers need to first purchase the Galaxy S23 Ultra and then trade in their old Ultra devices or iPhones to receive the base S23.

The base Galaxy S23 model Samsung offers has 128GB of storage. It's the same as the 256 and 512GB variants, with one exception. The 128GB model has UFS 3.1 storage rather than UFS 4.0 like the rest of the Galaxy S23 series. UFS 3.1 is slower than UFS 4.0, but you probably won't notice a difference in normal use.

The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that received special treatment from Qualcomm. It's a chip designed “for Galaxy,” boasting higher clock rates for the primary CPU and the GPU than the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC other smartphone manufacturers use.

And with this Galaxy S23 Ultra offer, Samsung makes it easier for you and a friend or family member to experience the highest-performing Galaxy phones to date or switch from iPhones to the Android side together for cheap.
