If you own a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Fit, having the Samsung Health app on your Galaxy or non-Samsung Android device is essential. However, if you are using it on an Android device that is running Android 9.0 or older versions of the OS, there's some bad news for you.

The latest beta version of the Samsung Health app for Android (version 6.27) contains a notice which says that from 24 June 2024, this version of Samsung Health will not be available on devices running Android 9.0 or older versions of the operating system (via Android Authority).

Samsung Health drops support for Android 9.0 and older

In other words, the latest beta version of Samsung Health will work only on devices with Android 10 and newer versions of the OS. Considering this move, the next stable version of the app will also not support Android 9.0 or older versions of the OS. Samsung also says that you will be able to use Samsung Health on Android 9.0 or older versions of the OS but you “will only be able to use limited services and features without further support.

Samsung Health Version 6.27 Does Not Work On Android 9.0 And Older

So, if you have an old Galaxy smartphone or tablet, that is running Android 9.0-based One UI 1.0 or older versions of the OS, such as the Galaxy S8 series devices or the Galaxy Note 8, you will not be able to run the latest beta version of Samsung Health or the next stable version of the app on your device. Plus, the current version of Samsung Health on your device will offer limited services and Samsung will not provide any support for those.

The story continues after the video…

The latest news is a bummer for people who are using Samsung Health on their Galaxy smartphones and tablets (or any Android device) running Android 9.0-based One UI 1.0 or older versions of the OS. If you are one of them, and thinking of getting a new smartphone to be able to use Samsung Health without any issues, you can look at the Galaxy A35 if you want an affordable phone or the Galaxy S24 Ultra if you want to get the best of the best.
