The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will succeed the impressive Galaxy Watch Ultra and is expected to go official in July 2026. Based on the information available so far, the upcoming high-end smartwatch runs One UI 9 Watch (based on Wear OS 7) and features a more refined design. It is also expected to offer additional health and wellness features and improved performance.
Let’s take a look at everything we know about the wearable so far.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 largely retains the same design as the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It has a 1.5-inch circular Super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of at least 3,000 nits.

The smartwatch has a simpler 20mm silicone watch strap with a dual-buckle tongue for a secure fit. Based on leaked press renders, it no longer uses the ridged watch strap design found on the original Galaxy Watch Ultra. It comes in Titanium Grey and Titanium Silver colors.

Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chip. It would be an upgrade over the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s Exynos W1000 chip in terms of performance, thanks to its higher CPU clock speeds and a likely more powerful GPU. The Snapdragon chip could be paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
The smartwatch is also expected to feature dual-band GNSS (BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, and L1 + L5 GPS), Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.4 with LE support.
It has been revealed that the smartwatch is powered by an 800mAh battery, a significant upgrade over the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s 590mAh battery. Combined with a newer chip, the larger battery should deliver substantially longer battery life than its predecessor.

The smartwatch is equipped with an accelerometer, altimeter, barometer, bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) sensor, compass, GNSS, gyro sensor, and heart rate monitor. It can measure blood oxygen (SpO2), body composition, heart rate, steps, sleep (duration, quality, and stages), VO2 max, and workouts.
It also offers advanced health and wellness features, including Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), Antioxidant Index, and Vascular Load.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could be announced on July 22, 2026, during a Galaxy Unpacked event. It could become available for pre-order on the same day and go on sale on August 5, 2026.
In the US, Samsung could stick with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2’s $699 price tag. In other countries, pricing could also remain similar to that of the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra.
