Samsung has made one of the most meaningful upgrades to its top-of-the-line smartwatch. It unveiled the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 today, which stays true to its DNA and offers the most bonkers specs of any Samsung smartwatch.
The company has massively improved the battery capacity of this smartwatch. At 800mAh, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2's battery is 35% larger than the original model.
The original Galaxy Watch Ultra's 590mAh battery was the largest among Samsung smartwatches when it was first released in 2024. This smartwatch was meant for the serious outdoorsy types. You wouldn't want your smartwatch dying on you while you're hiking in a remote area and relying on GPS tracking, after all.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 kicks things up a notch with its 800mAh battery, a 35% capacity increase compared to the original. This, coupled with improvements delivered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset and One UI 9 Watch, will ensure that users truly have multi-day battery life while they're far away from a charging source.
Despite the chunkier battery, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is actually slimmer overall. The device's thickness has been reduced by 12% compared to the outgoing model while also retaining its shock-resistant titanium casing.
At $699, it's by no means a smartwatch for the average user. For those who can realize the full potential that it offers, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is in a league of its own.
