Samsung Electronics has activated a new map in Fortnite, bringing the Galaxy S23 series into the metaverse along with new activities and gameplay-changing features. And to top it all off, Samsung Island in Fortnite now hosts a new virtual showroom featuring the company's latest products in the game world, ranging from the Odyssey line of monitors to the Galaxy S23 series.

Fortnite players can access the Samsung Island, or Samsung SmartCity, in the game using the code 8526-6648-9508. Once they get to the virtual island, visitors can interact with Samsung in-game devices and play the interactive game Fun Game Quest, which follows a hide-and-seek format. Each round, players must find hidden Galaxy S23 smartphones in the game world and keep them until the round ends.

The Fortnite map also allows players to improve their attributes. They can gain new zoom functions that let them see at long distances or find the hidden Nightography button, earning them the ability to see in the dark. And the Knox button provides an extra layer of protection to the player.

Like curved screens? Galaxy S23 Ultra is still a choice, but it isn’t cheap

A few weeks ago, we discussed the Galaxy S23 Ultra and why it may have marked the end of a 9-year legacy. In short, it might be the last Samsung phone with a curved, a.k.a., ‘Edge' display. And the good news is that it still is awesome in 2024. The bad news is that it […]

In addition to its existing facility, the company announced a $17 billion project in 2021 for a semiconductor plant in Taylor, Texas that's likely to begin mass production of chips later this year. The US government is focused on pumping up the local […]

Samsung’s top acquisitions man returns as big deals expected

Samsung has not participated in the mergers and acquisitions market for more than 7 years, despite having more than $60 billion in cash that it could use to buy new companies. Its absence from this space was also partly due to the legal troubles of heir Lee Jae-yong, who only recently returned to the top […]

Google kickstarted the Android 15 conversation on February 17 by releasing the first developer preview of the next version of the operating system, and users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets have unsurprisingly begun to wonder if their devices will get Android 15. Google will take until July to finish work on Android 15, and […]

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

I'm a big fan of Samsung using proper nouns to label most of its home electronics. For instance, PC monitors names are no longer just a string of seemingly random letters and numbers. Instead, they belong to lineups named ‘Odyssey' or ‘ViewFinity.' It makes Samsung look better instead of coming across as a company that […]
