On the menu today is information about the Galaxy Ring's battery. FCC certification has revealed the battery capacities for the upcoming wearable. Like Samsung's smartwatches, the Galaxy Ring's battery capacity will depend on its size.
The Galaxy Ring will come in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 (US standard); the first three will have a 17 mAh battery, sizes 8-11 will have an 18.5 mAh battery, and size 12 will have a 22.5 mAh battery. The capacity isn't listed for the largest Galaxy Ring size (13), but we can expect it to be the same as that of size 12.
The Galaxy Ring is a tiny product, so it's not surprising that the batteries are tiny as well. However, battery life should be similar on most variants. Samsung MX head TM Roh revealed earlier that the Galaxy Ring can last up to nine days on a single charge, though we can expect real-world endurance to be slightly lower than whatever Samsung's official claims will be.
For those wondering how they will pick the right option if they don't know their ring size, Samsung has a solution in place. The company will ship samples of all sizes in what it calls the Sizing Kit to customers so they can test each one and see which one fits best.
The buying process will essentially be longer for those who use the sizing kit, so if patience isn't your strong suit, you may want to turn to other methods, like wrapping a soft/flexible measuring tape around you finger, to find your ring size.
