Samsung Electronics topped the YouGov Consumer Electronics Rankings 2022 in India. The Korean tech giant is leading the market ahead of Apple with an index score of 33.1 among Indian residents.

Apple was the second brand on the list with an index score of roughly 25.2, and Sony ranked third with an index score of 22.2. (via Financial Express).

Samsung was the highest-rated company with an index score of 33.1 because of its rich product portfolio covering different price points. The Galaxy S22 series and Z foldables sit at the top of the food chain, but Samsung also offers affordable Galaxy M and Galaxy F devices in partnership with Flipkart and other retailers.

Apple also got recognition for releasing new products, such as AirTags. But interestingly, smartphones — as a product category — were highly-rated among Indian residents. Brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Redmi, Realme, and Vivo were entered in the Consumer Electronics Rankings 2022, though at a smaller level than Samsung.

In terms of market share, Samsung ranked 2nd in India in Q1 2022, although the company is leading the charge in 5G smartphone sales. Samsung is narrowing the gap with Xiaomi and could overtake the Chinese OEM soon.
