Meta is currently the world’s largest smart glasses brand. However, more competition is on the way, as Samsung is expected to launch Android XR-powered smart glasses later this year. Apple is also rumored to be entering the category next year. To prepare for that competition, Meta is reportedly developing multiple new smart glasses products.

According to a report from The Information, Meta is working on four new pairs of smart glasses and an AI-powered pendant. All of the smart glasses are reportedly scheduled to launch before the end of 2026.

The report also reveals the codenames and expected launch windows for the upcoming devices:

  • Modelo: June 2026
  • Luna: Fall 2026
  • RBM2 Refresh: Fall 2026
  • Mojito VIP: December 2026

The RBM2 Refresh models are reportedly updated versions of the current Ray-Ban Meta (second-generation) smart glasses. It remains unclear what features the other three models will offer.

Meta is also said to be developing a new consumer-focused AI agent codenamed “Hatch.” In addition, the company is reportedly working on a business-focused initiative called “Wearables for Work.”

The social media giant is also developing projects codenamed “Artemis” and “SSG.” These devices are said to be capable of using their cameras for extended periods, allowing them to better understand a user’s surroundings and provide more relevant information and assistance.

Those products are reportedly expected to launch sometime next year.

Meta is said to be aiming to sell nearly 10 million smart glasses during the second half of this year.
