During today’s Google I/O 2026 developers conference, Samsung unveiled its first smart glasses developed in partnership with Google. The intelligent eyewear will be available in two premium styles co-created with fashion eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
These smart glasses combine Samsung’s hardware expertise with Google’s advanced AI technology and software platform. They run the Android XR operating system and connect to Android and iOS smartphones wirelessly.

Besides capturing photos and videos using the onboard camera, users can use voice commands to get help through Google Gemini. The onboard AI assistant can understand the surrounding environment alongside the user’s request in real time to offer better answers. These glasses don't have a built-in display, so all the feedback and responses will be delivered by voice.
The glasses can provide navigation assistance and personalized recommendations, such as nearby coffee shops or restaurants that match a user’s dietary preferences. Users can also receive summaries of important notifications and text messages, add events to their calendar, and access real-time language translation. The companies claim that language translation's audio is designed to sound similar to the person you are conversing with.

Samsung and Google say the smart glasses can also translate text on menus and signboards directly within the user’s field of view. The glasses are designed to work seamlessly with Galaxy devices, including smartphones and wireless earbuds.
The Warby Parker model features a more conventional design, while Gentle Monster’s version offers a bolder and more fashion-focused look.
The first collection of these smart glasses will launch this fall, with additional details, including pricing, expected to be announced in the coming months.
