The July 2021 security patch rollout continues for the Galaxy S21 series. Samsung is now distributing a new firmware update for the unlocked Galaxy S21 in the USA, and unsurprisingly, the July 2021 security patch is included.
The latest security update was detailed by Samsung last week. It includes roughly two dozen fixes for Android OS and Samsung's own software, and it addresses an Android Auto issue that can cause the app to crash when unlocking the phone.
Galaxy S21 carrier models came first
Unexpectedly enough, the July 2021 security patch debuted on the carrier models in the USA last week. It took a few days for the international Galaxy S21 models to catch up, and they did earlier today when the trio began receiving the firmware update in Germany. Samsung is now going full circle with the latest release for the unlocked US-bound models.
The new firmware update for the unlocked Galaxy S21 series stateside can be identified by version G99xU1UES4AUFD. Owners can attempt to download the update by opening Settings on their phones, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, SamMobile readers can download the latest firmware update from our archive and apply it manually using a PC.
