Usually, Samsung launches one flagship smartphone with a book-style foldable display every year. In 2026, however, the brand is expected to launch two. The first is said to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The second is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a version of the former with a wider foldable screen and one less rear camera.
Initial reports about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra claimed that it would be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8. However, we exclusively reported that the company may launch it as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Now, we have proof that not only confirms the existence of the device and suggests that the tech giant may launch it soon, but also backs our claim about its moniker.
Bluetooth SIG has certified the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (via Sumaho Digest), confirming its moniker. As you can see in the screenshot below, the platform has listed the phone’s five variants: SM-F976C, SM-F976Q, SM-F976Z, SC-56G, and SCG39.
Unfortunately, the certification doesn’t reveal the phone’s features or specifications. That being said, we already know many aspects about the device, including its design, thickness, weight, battery capacity, and charging speed. Samsung may launch it next month.
