TL;DR

  • Samsung is rolling out the July 2026 security patch to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4, and Flip 4 units in South Korea.
  • The update fixes 57 security issues, and other regions should receive it in the next few days.
  • Fold 5 and Flip 5 are eligible for One UI 9.0, while Fold 4 and Flip 4 are not.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 units in South Korea are getting new software updates. These updates bring the July 2026 security patch, which fixes 57 security issues present in the previous firmware, making these devices more secure.

The latest updates carry firmware versions F946NKSS6GZG3F731NKSS6GZG4, F936NKSS8IZG2, and F721NKSS8IZG2, respectively (via Mohammed Khatri). The brand should release the July 2026 security patch for these devices in other regions over the next few days.

The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in other countries should carry firmware versions ending with the same four characters. Once the company makes them available in your region, your phone should automatically notify you about it.

If it doesn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are eligible to get Samsung’s next Android skin, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 aren’t.
