    Galaxy Z Flip 4, Fold 4 get One UI 5.1.1 update in South Korea

    A few days ago, Samsung released the One UI 5.1.1 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Tab S8 series in Europe. Now, the One UI update is available for Samsung's fourth-generation foldable phones—Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4—in South Korea.

    The One UI 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721NKSU2DWH5 in South Korea, while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting the One UI 5.1.1 update with firmware version F936NKSU2DWH5. Both smartphones are getting some new and improved features for better multitasking and usability. The update is still based on Android 13 and not Android 14. The new updates also bring the August 2023 security patch to these foldable smartphones, and according to Samsung, it fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy phones.

    If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 and live in South Korea, you can now download and install the One UI 5.1.1 update on your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

    What's new with the One UI 5.1.1 update on Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4?

    One UI 5.1.1 brings an improved taskbar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and it can now display up to four recently used apps. It also brings the two-hand drag-and-drop action that lets you drag multiple files from one location/app to another location using two hands. The multitasking menu now displays the state (full-screen, minimized, or pop-up mode) of each app at that point in time. One UI 5.1.1 also lets you switch an app's window from full-screen to pop-up and vice versa by dragging the corner of the app's window.

    Both phones get the ability to share files via Quick Share even if the other user is not on the same Wi-Fi network. When a file is shared via Quick Share while both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, but if one of the devices leaves that network, files will continue to be sent via the internet. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 get new clock widget fonts for the lock screen.

    The new Flex Mode now has customizable buttons, and you can hold the buttons and drag them to set Flex Mode options as per your needs. There is a progress bar and more buttons for media playback controls. The One UI 5.1.1 update will only be released to foldable phones and tablets from Samsung.
