The One UI 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with firmware version F936BXXU4DWH5. The update has a file size of around 2.76GB, and it includes the August 2023 security patch. The update is currently rolling out in some European countries, and it could reach more countries and regions worldwide within the next few days.
If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 4 and live in Europe, you can now check for the One UI 5.1.1 update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The new update brings up to four recently used app icons on the taskbar, the two-hand drag-and-drop feature to quickly move files from one app to another, and the ability to hide apps that are opened in the pop-up window mode. The One UI 5.1.1 update also shows the app's current state (full-screen, side-by-side multitasking, or pop-up window) in the Recent Apps (multitasking) menu. You can quickly switch between the multi-window and pop-up views by dragging one of its corners.
Quick Share now allows you to share files even with those not on the same Wi-Fi network. Private Share allows you to set an expiration time for shared files. You can even remove shared files whenever you want. The lock screen gets more clock font styles and placement options.
With the One UI 5.1.1 update, Samsung has also introduced more features for Flex Mode. The Flex Mode now shows a progress bar and more media playback controls when an audio or video file is played on one half of the screen. You can even drag and drop those media control butt as per your requirements.
Older Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series foldable phones will also get all these features with the One UI 5.1.1 update. Older tablets will get the One UI 5.1.1 update, but they obviously won't get new Flex Mode features as they don't have a foldable screen.
