Galaxy Tab S10’s seven years of security updates will come only quarterly

Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Both tablets in the lineup, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, offer many upgrades over their predecessors. One of them is that the brand will offer seven new versions of Android and security updates for seven years to these devices, which is the first and the best in the Android tablet market. However, there’s one thing that the Galaxy Tab S series is infamous for when it comes to software updates, and Samsung hasn’t improved that with the latest flagship tablet lineup.

While Samsung offers several new versions of Android as well as security updates for many years to the Galaxy Tab S series devices, it offers the latter only once every three months. That’s unlike how the company treats its high-end smartphones; it offers security updates to those devices every month. Unfortunately, that isn't changing with the Galaxy Tab S10 series.

The story continues after the video…

Samsung reveals Galaxy Tab S10 security update information

Samsung has just updated the company’s official webpage containing information about security updates for its smartphones and tablets with details about the security updates for the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup. It lists the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra under ‘Current Models For Quarterly Security Updates,‘ which means that the South Korean tech giant will offer one security update every three months to these tablets. That’s exactly how it has treated previous Galaxy Tab S series devices, which is quite disappointing.

We wish that Samsung treated its high-end tablets the same way the company treats its high-end smartphones by offering security updates every month. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. That being said, what Samsung is offering is still the best in the industry. On a related note, if you are planning to get a Galaxy Tab S10, you should hurry, as the stock is already running dry.
