When the Galaxy S25 series was announced earlier this year, Samsung promised that it will release seven major Android OS updates to its new flagship smartphone lineup. But there is one variant—Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition—that will get one additional Android OS update.
The Enterprise Editions of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will get eight major Android OS updates, according to Samsung's website. The company has specifically mentioned that these variants will get updated up to Android 23. In comparison, the regular variants of the three phones will get seven major Android OS updates (up to Android 22).
Samsung usually offers one additional year of software update support to the Enterprise Editions of its high-end phones, and things aren't any different for the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition.
The company also revealed that the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition, Galaxy S25+ Enterprise Edition, and Galaxy S25 Ultra Enterprise Edition will get security updates up to January 2032. In comparison, the regular versions will get Android OS updates up to Android 22.
This is the longest software update support for any smartphone in the world, and that's saying something. That's longer than all the iPhones and Pixel phones. The only thing to worry about is how well the hardware, especially the phone's battery, holds up until the end of its software update period.
