Galaxy AI is going to be the primary buzzword Samsung will focus on when it launches the Galaxy S24 series later this month. The company's next flagship lineup will bring many hardware upgrades, but it's the software side of things that will steal the limelight.

The Galaxy S24 lineup will come with several AI features that will enhance various aspects of the user experience. For example, the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra will bring a powerful photo editing tool called Generative Edit, which will allow users to move or remove objects from images and even add new details to existing photos.

The Live Translate feature, meanwhile, will let you communicate in foreign languages by providing real-time translations. The Samsung Notes app will be able to automatically convert paragraphs of text into easy-to-read bullet points, and AI will even power things like the Samsung Keyboard app and the home screen wallpaper.

Some of the functionality will happen on-device without the need for an internet connection, similar to features found in Samsung's virtual assistant Bixby. But, as Samsung confirmed in its official Galaxy S24 Unpacked launch teaser, not everything will work without an internet connection.

Samsung's teaser also suggests that all of the Galaxy AI features will require a Samsung and Google account. Galaxy devices already require logging in to both a Google and Samsung account for the best experience, and doing so will clearly be even more important on the Galaxy S24 lineup.

We will have to wait for the Galaxy S24's official launch to find out which of its AI features will send and receive data over the internet and which of them won't. The wait won't be a long one, as Samsung's upcoming flagship is set to be unveiled in just two weeks (and is expected to hit retail shelves at the end of January).
