Samsung introduced 45W charging with the Galaxy Note 10+ back in 2019 and also added it to the Galaxy S20 Ultra before ultimately going back to 25W with the Galaxy S21 series. However, rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S22 series — or at least the Galaxy S22 Ultra — will once again introduce a charging speed upgrade.
65W support was said to be in testing for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the latest tweet from tipster Ice universe suggests Samsung is simply going to bring back support for 45W charging to its premier flagship lineup. And considering how many features Samsung has been cutting back on in recent times, we guess even that would be more than enough to make some of its fans happy. Of course, whether or not we get 45W or 65W charging on the Galaxy S22 series, you can rest assured that you will have to buy the charger separately.
As far as battery capacity is concerned, the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are expected to keep the same 4,000 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries as their predecessors. The Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, will feature a 4,500 mAh battery, same as the Galaxy S20+ instead of the Galaxy S21+.
