The new software update for the Galaxy S22 series brings the May 2024 security patch. The update is now available across Latin America with firmware version S90xEXXS9EXE5. It is a relatively small software update, so its download size is well under 1GB, and you can download it even using a cellular connection.
The May 2024 security patch fixes 45 security vulnerabilities discovered in previous software versions. As expected, the update doesn't bring any new features or performance gains to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The Galaxy S22 was launched in early 2022 with Android 12-based One UI 4 software. It received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in late 2022 and the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. It will likely get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update in late 2024.
The story continues after our video on Galaxy AI's Browser Assist feature.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in the Latin American region, you can now check for a new update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and then tap Download and install.
You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually. However, to use the manual flashing process, you need to be well-versed in the process and have access to a Windows PC and the Odin firmware flashing tool. We advise you to back up all your important data before initiating the manual flashing process.
