Despite being occupied with announcing new stuff at CES 2025, including new OLED, Neo QLED, and lifestyle TVs, Samsung isn’t delaying rolling out software updates to its devices. The tech giant has released a new firmware to the variants of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra that it sells in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, which have model numbers SM-S901E, SM-S906E, and SM-S908E.
The new software updates offers December 2024 security patch, which fixes a bunch of security issues. The version of the new firmware for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are S901EXXSBEXL2, S906EXXSBEXL2, and S908EXXSBEXL2 respectively.

You can get the new software update by opening Settings, scrolling down to Software update, and clicking on the Download and install button. We have made the new firmware files available in our database as well. You can download it from our firmware section and install it on your Galaxy S22 using Odin on a Windows PC. Make sure to backup your data before taking installing the update manually.
Samsung already released the same software update for the variants of the three devices that it sells in Europe, and the carrier-locked variants of the phones for the United States. Expected the South Korean tech giant to release the update to other variants soon.
