After the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung has chosen the Galaxy S20 FE 5G to get the September 2022 security update. The popular, affordable high-end smartphone is now getting a new security patch in various European countries. The update could be released in other regions within the next few days.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G bumps up the firmware version to G781BXXU4FVI1. The update is available in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Baltic region, and the Nordic countries.

The September 2022 security update fixes 24 vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones and tablets. Samsung may have improved the phone’s stability and reliability with the new update. Some security fixes that Google released with its September patch were already included by Samsung in the August 2022 patch.

If you have a Galaxy S20 FE 5G and if you live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now download and install the new software update on your device by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the second half of 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 onboard. The smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year.
