Samsung is doing a commendable job with respect to software updates to its smartphones and tablets. It has released its latest security update to the four-year-old Galaxy Note 9. Right now, the update is rolling out in some European countries.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 9 comes with firmware version N960FXXS9FVE1. The update is available in Germany, but more European markets are expected to get this update over the next few days. The May 2022 security patch fixes dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities.

If you are a Galaxy Note 9 user in Germany, you can now download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 9 in mid-2018 with Android 8.1 onboard. The phone received the Android 9 update in early 2019 and the Android 10 update in early 2020. While the phone has stopped getting Android OS updates, it is still getting frequent security patches.
