Galaxy Note 20 series is next in line for the October 2023 update

The October 2023 security patch is spreading like wildfire, and Samsung is now rolling out the update for its last Galaxy Note phones, i.e., the Note 20 series. The update is available in many countries across different continents.

The LTE Galaxy Note 20 (SM-N980F) and the 5G variant (SM-N981B) are getting the October 2023 update through firmware versions N980FXXS8HWJ1 and N981BXXS8HWJ1, respectively. The updates are available across Europe.

In addition, the Galaxy Note 20 5G is also getting the October 2023 update in the USA. For carrier versions, the update carries firmware version N981USQS5HWI1, whereas the unlocked Note 20 is getting firmware version N981U1UES5HWI1.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is also getting the October update

If you're using the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra model, worry not. Samsung is rolling out the October 2023 security patch for your phone.

The international Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (SM-N986B) is getting the update in Europe through firmware version N986BXXS8HWJ1.

As for the USA, the carrier-bound Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is getting this month's update as N986USQS5HWI1, whereas the unlocked model goes hand in hand with firmware version N986U1UES5HWI1.

Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra users in these markets should be able to download the October 2023 update by opening the Settings app on their phones, navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” They can also download the official firmware files from our website and install the update manually using a PC.
