The Galaxy M33 5G is the latest Galaxy M series smartphone to get the One UI 5.1 update. The device is getting updated to the latest version of One UI in South Korea. Galaxy M33 5G devices in other countries could soon get the One UI 5.1 update.

The Galaxy M33 5G is getting the One UI 5.1 update with new software that bumps up the phone's firmware version to M336KKSU4CWB3. The update also includes the February 2023 security patch that fixes dozens of security-related bugs found in the smartphone.

If you want to install the One UI 5.1 update on your Galaxy M33 5G, you need to be a South Korean user right now. You can install the update by heading over to the phone's Settings menu and navigating to Software update, and then tapping the Download and install option. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using Samsung's Odin tool.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M33 5G with Android 12 onboard. A few months ago, the South Korean firm released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update to the smartphone. The smartphone could get two more Android OS updates (Android 14 and Android 15) in the future.

Galaxy M33 5G: What's new with One UI 5.1 update?

The One UI 5.1 update brings updated stock apps and services to the Galaxy M33 5G. You can learn more about all the important One UI 5.1 features in our in-depth video above. One UI 5.1 brings the ability to choose where screenshots are saved. The Settings app offers search suggestions and the Smart Suggestions widget shows music recommendations from Spotify.

While it received most One UI 5.1 features, the Galaxy M33 5G doesn't have the option to change the selfie color tone from the stock Camera app. The Gallery app can search for more than one person or subject simultaneously. It offers improved image remastering, the ability to create Shared Family Albums, and a way to view and edit EXIF information of photos and videos.

Split-screen multitasking gets easier as the phone shows frequently used apps first. Apps can be maximized or minimized by dragging their corners. The Modes And Routines app has the option to change the font style, Quick Share settings, touch sensitivity, and wallpaper. The Weather app now shows all relevant information in the first fold, an hourly precipitation graph, and gets a new dynamic weather widget.

Samsung Internet can now search commonly between browsing history and bookmarks. You can access recently accessed websites from the Galaxy M33 5G on your paired Windows PC using the Windows Phone Link service. The battery widget displays the battery charge level of the phone and its connected accessories, such as smartwatches and wireless earbuds.
