The new firmware comes with version A505GUBS9CWA2 and the January 2023 security patch that it brings fixes many security issues. Currently, Samsung is pushing the update in as many as twenty-three countries in the region, including Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Pull down the notification tray on your phone to check for the software update alert, but if you haven’t got one yet, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software updates and clicking the Download and install button. The other way to get this update is by downloading the firmware from our database and flashing it manually.

The Galaxy A50 was launched with Android 9 out of the box. Since then, the phone has received two new versions of the OS, and it is currently running Android 11 (One UI 3.1). The phone will keep getting quarterly security updates until next year, after which Samsung could downgrade it to the biannual security update status.
