We exclusively reported four months ago that Samsung was working on a Galaxy A21s. One of the earliest details we found out about the device was that it would feature a macro camera, something Samsung had already introduced with the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71.

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A21s today without much fanfare. The official information about its specs and features comes by way of an infographic. The Galaxy A21s is Samsung's latest budget offering, a great addition to the company's outstanding Galaxy A series.

Galaxy A21s specs include a macro camera and a 5,000mAh battery

The Galaxy A21s sticks with the essence of this series for 2020, which is to provide an immersive display, a robust camera system and long-lasting battery life. The specs are pretty basic for the most part but for a device in this segment of the market, it's actually going to stand out.

The Galaxy A21s features a 6.5-inch HD+ 720×1600 pixel resolution Infinity-O display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It's powered by a 2.0GHz processor with 3/4/6GB RAM as well as 32/64GB storage. A microSD card slot will allow for expansion up to 512GB.

There's a 48-megapixel f/2.0 primary sensor at the back with an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth camera. A 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera is present as well alongside an LED flash. Selfie duties are handled by a 13-megapixel f/2.2 front camera. Additional functionality includes Bixby Vision, Lens Mode and Routines as well as Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. Face Recognition is supported as well.

Made out of the same 3D Glasstic material that Samsung uses for its Galaxy A lineup, topped off by a Hologram effect. The Galaxy A21s has a fingerprint sensor at the back and it measures 163.7 x 75.3 x 8.9mm and weighs 192g. Keeping the lights on is a chunky 5,000mAh battery backed up by 15W fast charging support.

In the Netherlands, the Galaxy A21s will be available for order from June 19 for the starting price of 209 euros. When it does arrive, it will be offered in black, white, blue and red colors.
