In July 2026, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra became Samsung's first smartphones to feature silicon-carbon (Si-C) battery technology. They won't be the last in Samsung's lineup, but which Galaxy is next in line for the upgrade? Well, sadly for FE fans, it's not the Galaxy S26 FE.
Samsung's new Galaxy S26 FE does not use a silicon-carbon battery. It's not all that surprising considering the fact that Si-C is cutting-edge, and FE devices generally borrow existing premium features rather than introducing them.
Samsung hasn't talked much about the S26 FE's battery, but the phone is powered by a more conventional Li-ion unit.

On paper, these are the same battery specs the Galaxy S25 FE had last year.
However, the Galaxy S26 FE also features a newer chip — the Exynos 2500 — built on a 3nm process. It's more power-efficient than the S25 FE's 4nm Exynos 2400 chip, so at the end of the day, the Galaxy S26 FE might deliver better battery life.
We'll know for sure and share our findings after we spend more time with the device. The Galaxy S26 FE will go on sale on September 4.
