The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is Samsung’s newest rugged smartphone, and the company keeps it up-to-date with the latest software updates. In November, the phone received Android 13 (One UI 5.0) and the November 2022 security patch, but it was limited to European countries. Last month, the phone received the December 2022 security patch as well. Today, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is getting the Android 13 update in the US.
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is rolling out to the phone’s carrier-unlocked variant for the US (SM-G736U1). It carries firmware version G736U1UEU1BWA5, and it also contains the January 2023 security patch with fixes for more than fifty security issues. The new firmware is rolling out to devices on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, Nextech, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile networks.
To install the Android 13 update on your Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, if you're in the US, check for the updates manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. You can also download the latest update from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro was launched in July 2022, and within four months, Samsung managed to sell the device in healthy numbers, all thanks to Airbus equipping its employees with rugged Galaxy devices. Considering that the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is supposed to get three versions of the OS, it is eligible to get Android 14 when it arrives later this year. Samsung may also update the phone with One UI 5.1 in the coming weeks.
