Samsung started rolling out the April 2022 security update a few days ago, and the Galaxy S21 received it earlier this week. Yesterday, the update was released to the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy S21 in the US. Today, the new security update has been released to the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S21 series in the US.

The latest software update for carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version G99xUSQS5CVCB in the US. It includes the April 2022 security patch that fixes over 88 privacy and security vulnerabilities. The update also contains general bug fixes, better performance, and stability improvements.

The April 2022 security update is currently rolling out on Comcast’s network in the US, but more carriers are expected to release the update within the next few days.

If you are a Galaxy S21 series user in the US and have a carrier-locked device, you can now check for the latest security update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
