
The US carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started getting the new software update. It bumps up the firmware version to N98xUSQU3FVI5 and brings the September 2022 security patch. According to Samsung's changelog, no new features have been added with this update. The new software improves the privacy, security, and stability of smartphones.
The September 2022 security patch fixes over 24 privacy and security vulnerabilities, and you can read all about them in our previous article. If you are a Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone user with a carrier-locked model in the US, you can now download and install the new software by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.
If you are familiar with the manual firmware flashing process, you can visit our firmware database and download the latest firmware file and then flash it manually. Don't forget to back up your data, though. The Galaxy Note 20 series is currently on Samsung's monthly security update schedule and could be downgraded to quarterly updates next year.
