See which phone Bill Gates is using that was gifted by Samsung boss Jay Y. Lee

You'd never expect Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates to use an iPhone, or at least acknowledge using one in public. Fortunately for him, there's a great variety of Android phones to choose from and Samsung certainly makes some of the best devices on the market.

Gates has revealed that he's using a Samsung Galaxy foldable phone these days, and what's more interesting is that the phone he's using was gifted to him by Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee.

Gates revealed that he's using a Samsung foldable phone during an interview with a Korean media outlet which will be aired in full on August 27. Gates isn't the only tech tycoon that likes Samsung phones. Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has publicly expressed his appreciation for Galaxy devices.

He was asked a wide range of questions during the interview, including on his philanthropic activities and his pledge to give away virtually all of his wealth to charity, through both his personal wealth and donations from the Gates Foundation.

The conversation inevitably shifted towards technology as well. Gates was asked about what phone he uses, to which he replied that he uses a Samsung foldable phone gifted by Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee.

Gates has actually been using Galaxy Z Fold phones for several years now. He revealed during a Reddit AMA in 2022 that he was using a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and upgraded to a Galaxy Z Fold 4 in 2023 which he also received as a gift from Jay Y. Lee.
