Summer isn’t actually here yet, but the sun is out and shining already in many parts of the world, and it’s only going to get brighter and hotter as the weeks go by.

That means two things as far as your smartphone is concerned. Your phone’s display is going to be much harder to read when you’re out in the sun, and while you’re going to get a lot of opportunities to capture some beautiful photos, the sun’s also going to make your phone’s camera work harder to give you the best shots.

Well, lucky for us, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and it’s easily going to be the best summer phone you can buy this year. And it’s all thanks to its amazing display and superior camera setup that beat everything else on the market right now.

No sun is bright enough to make the Galaxy S22 Ultra unreadable

We already said it in our Galaxy S22 Ultra review, and we’ll say it again: This is the best display Samsung has ever put on a phone, and is pretty much the best display on any phone right now.

Part of the reason why it’s so good is that it can get really, really bright. In technical terms, the S22 Ultra can achieve a peak brightness of 1750 nits. What does that mean in the real world? Well, no matter how bright the sun (or the lights around you) might be, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s screen remains perfectly readable.

Not that earlier Galaxy flagships had legibility issues, but with the Galaxy S22 Ultra it’s a whole different ballgame. It's just not the brightness levels that are crazy high – thanks to what Samsung calls Vision Booster technology, the S22 Ultra manages to reproduce accurate colors when it's achieving that peak brightness.

If you spend a lot of time outdoors and are looking for the best smartphone display, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a great choice right now.

Excellent and versatile cameras for those summer pics

In addition to the top notch display, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has an excellent camera setup. There’s a 108MP main rear camera that captures some amazing detail and gives you nicely exposed shots even when you’re shooting against the sun. The same goes for the ultra-wide camera, which lets you fit more in the frame while preserving a good degree of detail and colors and exposure that match those of what you get from the main camera.

With the 3x and 10x telephoto zoom lenses, you can get closer to your target without moving physically. You can go up to a 100x zoom with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and while 30x-40x zoom is a lot more practical, you would be surprised about how good even the 100x shots can sometimes be, thanks to some amazing AI trickery made possible by the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s new Exynos and Snapdragon processors.

So, need a new phone for the summer? The Galaxy S22 Ultra's waiting for you

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is an awesome phone, and there is plenty to like in addition to the excellent display and cameras. Check out video review for all the details, then hit one of the links below to order one this big, bad boy for yourself!
