Samsung has launched a new 16GB variant of the Galaxy On Nxt smartphone in India. The new storage variant is available for immediate purchase in Black and Gold color options exclusively on Flipkart.

A quick glance at the specification sheet shows that Samsung has simply rebranded the Galaxy J7 Prime as the Galaxy On Nxt for online sales in India. The Galaxy On Nxt was first launched in October 2016 with 32GB inbuilt storage. A 64GB variant of the same model was launched in April 2017. More than a year after launching the first Galaxy On Nxt variant, in a peculiar move, Samsung has launched the 16GB variant now. Apart from the internal storage, there seems to be no difference between the three variants.

The 16GB variant is priced at INR. 10,999 (~$173)

The 16GB variant is priced at INR. 10,999 (~$173) on Flipkart. As part of the 2018 Mobiles Bonanza Sale, the online retailer is currently offering INR. 1,000 (~$16) discount on the list price. Buyers can also get an additional discount through exchange offers and Axis Bank Buzz credit cards. The 32GB variant is priced at INR. 15,900 (~$250) and the 64GB variant is priced at  INR. 17,900 (~$282) with an additional discount of INR. 6,000 (~$95) during the ongoing sale, bringing the effective price to INR. 11,900 (~$187)

The Galaxy On Nxt is a dual-SIM phone with 4G VoLTE compatibility. It comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD TFT display, a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash, an 8-megapixel front camera, a dedicated microSD slot, a fingerprint sensor, and a 3300mAh non-removable battery. Under the hood, the device is powered by an Octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset and 3 GB of RAM.

The listing page for the 16 GB variant says that the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It may come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box as Samsung released the Nougat update for the Galaxy On Nxt in September last year.
