After Samsung's mild success with the Samsung Z1 in India and Bangladesh, it is planning to launch Tizen smartphones in another developing nation, South Africa. First of these Tizen smartphones in the Samsung Z2, which will be the first Tizen device with support for 4G LTE.

According to a report from ETNews, the Samsung Z2 will be launched in October in South Africa, and in other countries including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kenya, and Nigeria by the end of this year. This will be Tizen's entry into the African market. The Z2 will be the first Tizen smartphone to support remote assistance feature.

Countries like Kenya and Nigeria are building their 4G infrastructures, and it's a good time for Samsung to grow the Tizen ecosystem there. According to some industry insiders, Samsung also wants to use these markets as testbeds for its Tizen-based IoT infrastructure, which will help it expand its IoT solutions to European and American markets.

The Samsung Z2 will come with a remote assistance feature where owners can get live help from the company's call centers. It is also expected to feature an AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, and the S Bike Mode, which automatically responds to messages and calls while the user is driving.
