6-inch Galaxy Mega surfaces online

There has been much chatter recently about Samsung launching an updated version of the Galaxy Mega smartphone. Last year it released two models, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3. While it isn't known for sure if the company will release two models once again we have heard whispers about the Galaxy Mega 2. A picture of the device has surfaced online today, it was first spotted in China Telecommunications Equipment Certification Center's database.

The Galaxy Mega 2 model that showed up in the database has model number SM-G7508Q, a SM-G750A has already made the FCC pitstop in the US, so its likely that this device will be released Stateside as well. The model destined for China has support for the country's TD-LTE network.

As far as the specifications are concerned the Galaxy Mega 2 has a 5.98-inch display according to the listing with 720×1280 pixel resolution. The device itself measures 163.6 x 84.9 x 8.6mm, given its display size no wonder that its Mega not just in name. There's a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood with 2GB RAM, 8GB internal memory with microSD card support, 13 megapixel rear camera with flash, 5 megapixel front camera and Android 4.4.

Samsung hasn't confirmed when this device is going to be formally announced so we'll have to wait for official word from the company.
