Samsung has officially announced its new Super AMOLED tablets, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5, for the Indian market. The launch in India marks the debut of the data-enabled variants of the Galaxy Tab S slates, and both tablets will go on sale in the country from the second week of July in Titanium Bronze or Dazzling White colors. Pricing starts at Rs. 37,800 (~$630) for the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, while the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will be priced at Rs. 44,800 (~$745). Those prices are rather high compared to the $399 and $499 price tags of the Wi-Fi-only variants, but are likely a result of the inclusion of data connectivity and currency conversion rates.

The Galaxy Tab S lineup features 2560×1600 Super AMOLED displays, an octa-core Exynos 5420 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a fingerprint sensor, NFC, IR Blaster, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung’s Magazine UX and features such as Kids Mode, Ultra Power Saving Mode, SideSync, and more. The 8.4-inch variant is powered by a 4,900mAh battery, while the larger model sports a 7,900mAh battery.
