5G hasn't achieved its full potential yet. However, there are a plethora of 5G devices from different brands in the market. But it all boils down to which is the best 5G capable device that can give you the best internet speeds. Well, thanks to OOKLA (company behind popular SpeedTest service), we now know the best 5G devices in the US.

OOKLA has prepared a list of the top 5 fastest 5G devices in the US after calculating the numbers reported to them in Q3 of 2022. Guess what? The top five fastest 5G devices in the US are all from Samsung and Apple.

Apparently, the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro are the fastest 5G devices on the market, beating Samsung devices. It is the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is the fastest 5G device from Samsung in the US, followed by the Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It is pretty surprising to see this year's premium flagship, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, taking a spot below the 2021 flagship, the Galaxy S21+.

The top iPhone models recorded impressive download speeds, with an average of 177Mbps. The best Samsung phone—Galaxy Z Fold 4—achieved an average speed of 162Mbps in the US. The sad part is that the difference between the top iPhone models and the top Samsung Galaxy device is huge when it comes to upload speeds. Samsung's average upload speed was terrible, with the fastest median at under 20Mbps.

One thing that OOKLA pointed out is that the 5G speeds will vary from network to network, as this list did not differentiate data based on different networks. When it comes to network speeds, Brazil and China show double the download and upload speeds compared to the US.
