TL;DR

  • Samsung’s first Intelligent Eyewear AI glasses may launch in December, after earlier reports pointed to an earlier window.
  • The initial release is expected to be limited to South Korea and the U.S., with other markets following in 2027.
  • The audio-only glasses are powered by Android XR and Gemini, with microphones and cameras but no display.

Samsung's first Intelligent Eyewear AI smart glasses, unveiled this past spring, may finally go on sale in December. However, the initial launch will reportedly be limited to South Korea and the U.S.

Samsung initially scheduled its audio-only smart glasses for release in Fall 2026 but didn't specify a day, a week, or even a month. A later report from Korea said Samsung could release its AI smart glasses in November. However, that launch window may have been overly optimistic.

Intelligent Eyewear may or may not ship in time for the holidays

According to a new report (via BigGo), Samsung may have pushed the launch back by a few weeks. Intelligent Eyewear products may go on sale in South Korea and the USA this December. Other markets will follow in 2027.

Samsung's first Intelligent Eyewear wearables were developed in partnership with Google and co-created with fashion eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Android XR and Gemini power the smart glasses. They feature microphones for voice commands and cameras for image recognition. Unlike Samsung's Galaxy XR headset, these Intelligent Eyewear products don't have displays. They are essentially voice-based and benefit from extra awareness thanks to their built-in cameras.

Samsung's Intelligent Eyewear glasses will compete with the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. Prices have not yet been revealed, but the company did say they'll be reasonable.
