TL;DR

  • Samsung has begun rolling out a second October update for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
  • The update is first available in South Korea, with the Ultra version sized at 687.54MB and firmware F976NKSU3AZJ8.
  • Samsung has not said what the update changes, but it appears to include internal improvements and should reach other countries soon.

Earlier today, Samsung released the second update of the month for the Galaxy S26 series, which seems to offer under-the-hood changes. Now, the brand is doing the same for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Samsung has started rolling out a new update to all three foldable phones. However, just like the one for the Galaxy S26 series, it remains unclear exactly what changes the latest updates for these devices bring. They appear to offer internal changes.

The company is releasing the updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 first in its home country, South Korea. The update for the Ultra model weighs 687.54MB and carries firmware version F976NKSU3AZJ8 (via Mohammed Khatri).

Samsung should roll out the updates in other countries over the next few days. In the meantime, you can check for the update on your phone by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
